We have full access

Synagogue or church not required

It’s been a long time since I’ve been a full-time church-goer. The biggest reason why is that our family business is busiest on Sundays.

But. It isn’t the only reason.

The other reasons are a story for another day. But John chapter 9 reminds me that a church or synagogue is not required to have a beautiful relationship with the Lord.

Man can not keep us from Him. God made sure of that through the greatest gift ever given.

Scripture:

His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

John 9:20-23

Observation:

This man’s parents were so afraid of losing access to the synagogue that they put everything regarding the miracle of sight done for/on their son on his shoulders. Man afraid of another man keeping them from accessing the house of God/God Himself. Living by the laws of Moses and the rulers of the synagogue was the only hope the people had.

Application:

How truly blessed we are to have full access to the Lord through Jesus’ death on the cross. We don’t have to be in a church to find or talk to Him. Man can not keep us from Him, no matter what circumstance we are in. We don’t truly realize what a tremendous blessing it is to have the ability to talk to God anytime and anywhere. If we did, prayers/worship would constantly be on our lips.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of full access to You. Thank you, Lord, that man does not control my ability to have a relationship with You.
